Nevaeh is one of the goddesses of the 5th Oblivion. Along with Sedah, the two of them rule the realm with complete and total power. The goddesses often bring other beings from around the multiverse into the 5th Oblivion, to participate in dangerous and sometimes deadly challenges, quests and adventures. Many times these challenges have no purpose, other than to allow Sedah and Nevaeh to watch humans and other species tap into the depth of their own abilities, intelligence, heroism, villainy or depravity. Generally speaking, Sedah is the goddess who enjoys creating the impossible challenges, while Nevaeh usually imbues the participants with a physical, mental, or metaphysical enhancement, in order to give them a fighting a chance. If the participant loses the challenge, they risk suffering their own demise, but at the very least they are returned to their own world or reality with debilitating conditions, and torturous reoccurring nightmares recounting their time in the 5th Oblivion.

In the 5th Oblivion, Nevaeh is all-powerful. She can control all aspects of the realm, and nearly any sentient being who ends up inside the realm. Outside the 5th Oblivion she has limited matter-manipulation powers.
However, if a participant or visitor is able to win or survive the challenge, Nevaeh will return them to their world, and allow them to keep the enhancement she gave them to use during their time in the 5th Oblivion. Such was the case with Courtney Quick, Jessica Dash, Zipporah Zing and Swinn Swift.
After several millennia of operating exclusively inside the 5th Oblivion, the goddesses Sedah and Nevaeh found themselves to be needed outside of their realm, and thus needed to appoint someone to keep watch while they were absent. So they created a third goddess, who, at the point of inception, was simply known as Slate. Though the goddesses agreed that young Slate would become a great and powerful entity, they vehemently disagreed with the methods by which she should be developed. While Sedah felt Slate should be surrounded with incredible women, from whom she could learn a plethora of skills, abilities and powers, Nevaeh felt she should be allowed to develop in relative isolation, without outside influence.
In order to settle their dispute, the goddesses instituted the Empress Wars, in which each of them would bring teams of warriors to the 5th Oblivion, to fight on behalf of each ideal. Sedah summoned the superhero Ebony Raven, and several other hyper-powered and extraordinary women, to be a part of her army that would come to be known as the Chainmail Militia; and Nevaeh summoned the powerful ghost orphan Enid Remington, and many others, to be a part of the opposing army, the Daughters of Deborah.
Nevaeh’s army would guard the giant, ornate palace at the far end of the 5th Oblivion, in which Slate was housed, while Sedah’s army would attempt to break through and free her. No one would be permitted to leave the realm until the Wars had ended in the victory of one of the sides. Nevaeh, however, knew her side was destined to lose before the Wars even began, a fact that she revealed to Autumn Violet first, and then the rest of the Daughters of Deborah by proxy.
It seemed that this would give her side no reason whatsoever to fight, however, this bit of knowledge was the gift that served as the enhancement to give the Daughters of Deborah the fighting chance they needed. And as the Empress Wars began, Nevaeh’s army proved to be more motivated, more aggressive, and more vicious! Nevaeh correctly surmised that knowing their own futures would mitigate any fear or uncertainty in the face of the horrors of war. Disa Philadelphia, Virginia Ice, Makeda, Sultana, Deleria, Interface, Liberty Star, and the other Daughters of Deborah fought with reckless abandon, and many victories were won over the course of the War, which lasted what felt like nearly a year to the women involved.
Despite their valiance, however, Nevaeh’s army was eventually overpowered by Sedah’s Chainmail Militia, and after dozens of brutal and bloody encounters, the Daughters of Deborah were broken, and Slate was retrieved from the palace. It was Ebony Raven and Shadow Star, who broke away from the final battle, and took off with Slate toward the sanctuary of the bush garden that served as the Chainmail Militia’s base of operations. Enid Remington, and several other members of the Daughters eventually ran them down, and for all intents and purposes had them dead to rights.
But that’s when Francine Fray, aka Placebo – the most powerful member of Sedah’s army – appeared, and made her presence felt by unleashing a psionic blast that leveled the Daughters of Deborah, and cleared a path for Shadow Star and Ebony Raven to take Slate away… or so they thought, for Nevaeh had one more trick up her sleeve. She summoned the final member of the Daughters of Deborah, the incredibly powerful hyper-cog, London Omega.
London appeared before Placebo, and emitted a psionic wave that took hold of Ebony Raven, Shadow Star, and all of the other remaining Chainmail Militia members throughout the entire 5th Oblivion. She rose them all up in psionic bubbles, and suspended them in the air. She then unleashed a psionic pulse that attacked their brains, causing them to scream in excruciating pain. Placebo, in return, did the same exact thing to all the remaining members of the Daughters of Deborah – raising them up in psionic bubbles, and tearing at their brains as well.
Suddenly, Nevaeh, and her goddess partner, Sedah appeared near the battlefield, and watched with great interest as the two hyper-cogs continued to intensify their psionic outputs, bringing more and more agony to the warriors. Nevaeh then looked down at her protege, Slate, who stood in the midst of all of these tortured, and soon to be lifeless warriors, with innocence and awe in her eyes. And that’s when Nevaeh decided it was time to bring the Empress Wars to an end. Sedah, realizing her counterpart’s plan, asked her how she planned to stop the fighting. Nevaeh responded that she would simply “soften their hearts”.
Nevaeh raised her hands, and began to manipulate the situation. She quelled the rage and aggression inside Placebo and London Omega, and filled their minds with calmness and compassion. Within seconds, the two of them ceased to emit the psionic pulses that were tearing at the minds of the other warriors, and the screaming stopped, as they were all lowered to the ground. She then approached Enid Remington, the leader of the Daughters of Deborah, and imbued her with the idea to lay down arms, and surrender Slate to the Chainmail Militia’s leader, Ebony Raven. Sedah watched as the two women came together, shook hands, and agreed to terms.
And with that, the Empress Wars came to an end. Nevaeh had finally seen enough, and was now satisfied with the fate of Slate, and the 5th Oblivion as a whole. She announced to all the women that they would be returned to their original realms, worlds, respective timelines, and states of existence, but they would keep the memories of everything that they’d experienced in the 5th Oblivion. This meant that those who had met their demise during the Empress Wars would be returned to their old lives in their own real worlds, but they would have the memory of perishing; while those who had been resurrected from a different timeline to participate in the Wars would be returned to the grave and/or afterlife realm they’d previously inhabited.
Before they were sent back, however, there was one more piece of business to attend to – the business of Slate’s growth, development, and destiny. With Enid, and ultimately, Nevaeh conceding, it meant Sedah’s, to allow other extraordinary women to influence her growth as the future ruling goddess of the 5th Oblivion, was to be carried out. But then, as Sedah and Nevaeh prepared to extract a piece of each Empress War warrior, it was Slate herself who stepped up and stopped them.
The young goddess then declared that she had no desire to passively let herself be molded by the skills, abilities and powers of the Empress warriors; instead, she would actively and deliberately bathe in the influence of these extraordinary women, and use her own powers to extract a piece of each one’s essence, and make it her own.
Nevaeh could not not be more proud of her protege.
