Doc Diligence was born on Super Earth One, a planet sitting in the alternate Infiniverse realm that was discovered by Dr. Jessica Beck and her expedition team. Doc was one of the first hyper-beings and superheroes of Super Earth One, and had a large part in training the supreme hero and future savior of their world, Michael Xander Hope, aka Captain Infinity.

Doc Diligence has enhanced strength and durability. He is an extremely tactical mind, is well-versed in a variety of fighting styles and techniques, and is a weapons expert. He can also produce an energy shield from his wrists.
Doc’s skill as a tactician made him a huge asset to Super Earth One’s burgeoning society, as he was a key member of the Super Earth Military Corps and a trusted ally to General Jade Chrome. He was also a weapons maker and specialized in bladesmithing, a skill that came in handy when it came to creating a weapon for Captain Infinity and his sister Centuria. After the discovery of The Source – a powerful orb that provided light to the world, and hyper-abilities to a portion of its citizens – Doc was able to chip off a chunk of it, and mold a set of weapons for the superhero siblings.
He created the Infinity Sabre for Captain Infinity, and the Infinity Rings for Centuria. These weapons greatly increased their powers and abilities. Also, if used in tandem, the sabre and the rings could produce the Chronicle Wave, which would freeze time for a moment and allow Captain Infinity and Centuria to manipulate the timeline to their favor. Because of the risk of altering the continuum in an irreparable way, Captain Infinity become very reluctant to use it. In addition, Doc Diligence was never able to harvest any more of The Source, and so the Infinity Sabre and the Infinity Rings became the only weapons of their type.
In the 234th quantic, when the Hyper-Human War took place, Doc Diligence, like all hyper-beings, joined Centuria against General Jade Chrome and the human military corps. Captain Infinity exiled himself during the conflict, which the hyper-humans won in very convincing fashion. Humans were wiped out, and Centuria took over as the governor of Super Earth One. CodeName Zero, however, launched a coup d’état, and soon wrestled away control of the planet, before creating a dictatorship to satisfy his own whims.
Centuria and Doc Diligence built a rebellion force, but soon learned that CodeName Zero could not be defeated without the help of Captain Infinity. Centuria set out to find him and bring him back from exile, while Doc continued to guide the rebellion. When Zero heard of Centuria’s absence, he sent one of his most powerful agents to infiltrate and snuff out the rebels – his name was Night Blitz.
Unlike any other member of the Army of Shadows, Night Blitz was able to cloak himself, and slip through the Infinity City defense systems undetected. Then once he was inside, he could take down their defenses and open the doors for the other villains to pour in and attack. Night Blitz had successfully made his way to the defense prism controls, when Doc Diligence discovered him and engaged.
The battle was intense, as Night Blitz’s ability to cloak himself made it incredibly difficult for Doc to deal with the zero-energy he wielded. The hero used his combat energy shield and tactical skill to counteract the villain, and eventually gained an upper hand. The villain, however, switched to a much more evasive style and was able to sneak through and disable Infinity City’s defenses!
Doc sounded the alarm, and commanded his allies to prepare for war.
