Decibel was born on Super Earth One some time after the Hyper-Human War, which wiped out all humans and left the planet populated with only hyper-beings. The hero Michael Xander Hope, aka Captain Infinity leads the Infinity Force against the Army of Shadows in the War for Eternity that will last until Super Earth One meets its prophesied demise.

Decibel carries a pair of sonic-blades, which can emit high-frequency waves of sound energy. The waves can create concussive bursts, force-fields and sound vacuums, among other things. He is also an expert swordsman, and an extremely proficient martial artist.
Many quantics after the destruction of CodeName Zero – the original leader of the Army of Shadows – Madam Zero had taken over. She proved to be more vicious, more brutal, and exponentially more dangerous than her predecessor. For a while she had spent time hiding in the Shadow Forest on the Northern Continent of Super Earth One, gathering her forces and rebuilding the Army of Shadows. However, when her base was discovered by the heroes Decibel, Max Galaxy and Spectra, she was given the opportunity to reveal herself and her ultimate weapon.
Decibel had been a covert operative for the Infinity Force. His skills had allowed him to infiltrate many villain and enemy strongholds. Additionally, his powers allowed him to withstand and exist in harsh environments. This allowed him to go on intergalactic missions with Captain Infinity, and face some of the most dangerous enemies and environments.
However, he was not prepared for Madam Zero. During a mission with Max Galaxy and Spectra into the Shadow Forest, they were attacked by the new leader of the Army of Shadows. Her extreme powers and immense skills were able to deflect Decibel’s sonic swordplay, as well as attacks from Max Galaxy and Spectra. She defeated them and took them prisoner, but instead of destroying Decibel and his cohorts, she filled them with a portion of The Darklight, a mysterious energy she controlled.
Decibel, Max and Spectra increased in power, but they also became subject to Madam Zero’s command. And her first order was to attack the Infinity Fortress. As they approached the base, the fact that they were recognized as heroes allowed them to bypass the early warning systems. Then, Decibel used his sonic-blades to unleash a blast that broke down the front doors of the Infinity Fortress. At the time Sapphire Bolt was on patrol; she jumped into action, and for a moment her speed disoriented Max Galaxy and Spectra. Decibel, however, created a sonic cocoon around his body, which protected him from the vortex created by Sapphire Bolt’s movements. He then flung the blade from his right hand in a motion that created a sonic vacuum in Sapphire’s path, effectively neutralizing her speed for a brief moment.
That brief moment was enough for Decibel to launch a vicious assault on the Infinity Force speedster. His cohorts soon joined him, as they continued their attack…
